Welcome to
The Dolphins at Penlee, Fowey
Spectacular by day - Romantic by night
This five star apartment occupies a prime first floor position with stunning views of the estuary, Polruan and the sea. Readymoney beach and cliff walks are very close, and it takes approximately ten minutes to stroll into the town centre, shops, quays, pubs and restaurants.
Not only does The Dolphins boast fantastic views of the cliffs opposite, the estuary and out to sea, but also an excellent standard of accommodation. Moreover it has the enviable benefit of a private parking space opposite. It is an exceptionally spacious apartment, very comfortable and well appointed.
An internal staircase leads up to the front door and opens into the hallway leading to all rooms. The very large, light, open plan sitting/dining room is tastefully furnished and includes a white marble fire place, comfortable three piece suite, flat screen TV with home cinema system with DVD and includes some Sky channels. The dining table and chairs are set by the patio doors affording superb views in every direction. The large balcony and viewing area is a fantastic place to sit on warm sunny days and balmy evenings with friends and a glass of wine or with your morning tea watching the area coming to life. The view at night is magical with the floodlit tower and lights of Polruan directly in front of you. All of which is enhanced on clear nights with moonlight silhouetting the cliffs and reflecting on the water as it slowly tracks across the estuary and sea.
The kitchen is fully fitted. There are 2 bedrooms, one with a king sized bed and the other with twin beds. The bathroom has a bath/shower, wash basin and wc and there is also a separate wc.and hand basin.
The fact that the estuary never empties is a major plus for Fowey compared with other local favourites, and it has retained it’s community feel without becoming over commercialised . A small passenger ferry to Polruan a short distance away opens up possibilities of exploring the opposite side of the estuary and there is also a car and passenger ferry linking the far end of the town with Boddinick opening up further possibilities - not least the popular Hall walk which takes you out on one ferry and brings you back on another after stopping first for lunch at a pub at one end or the other.
The apartment is centrally heated and makes an ideal summer or winter holiday venue. There is also a pay phone for guests use. Bed linen is included.
